Factitious Flora

Humans have imagined many possible plant ontologies, from the mystical to the purely mechanical, in the process of trying to understand plants. Plants, having long been shaped by artificial selection towards human desire, are now ever-more malleable to human ideas through synthetic biology. Once impossible plants have become possible. Photosynthesis itself is being hacked. The uncertain future of climate change on Earth is a significant driver in this process. Factitious Flora is about these future possible plants, future plant/human relations, future plant/machine relations, and future plant/planet relations.
